well firslty I have to say that the technology behind these concealers is truly amazing!!
with regards to which one is better – Nanogen Nanofibres every time. It is simply a much better product. It blends with my hair perfectly, you can’t feel it, it takes literally seconds to apply.
I have used Toppik but have found that the fibres they use felt a bit more clumpy in my hair – it just didnt have the same natural look that nanogen nanofibres give.
hope this helps!!
I have to agree with MFran. Both are pretty good as concealers which seem to differ in technology from all the others – i tried a chep one at it all kept falling off but between the two Nanogen is far better than Toppik. It blends better and colors are more realistic, Plus you get 12.5g instead of 10.3g for same pridce regular size. But both are very good so you can choose either.
Can someone tell me if you can comb your hair after applying either product? And do you have to use a hair spray with either product? What happens if your hair become windblown or if you’re caught in the rain? Also, how natural are the lighter colors like light brown?
i bought toppix, light brown, and it is fantastic. blends right in. what i do for extra fullness is shampoo, dry, comb/brush the style i like, then hairspray (gives it more body). after the spray dries, I comb/brush again to the style i want, THEN apply Toppik. then i comb/brush the way i want it, then final hairspray.
the stuff doesn’t come out until you shower it out. my wife’s amazed how full my hair is and still can’t figure out how i’m doing it as for the rain, not sure. if the hair gets soaked i’m sure some will come out – for solution see umbrella. with hairspray don’t worry about any wind.
Thanks to MFran and Sparse. I am a Toppik user and had heard about Nanogen although some say they are the same so never bothered trying Nanogen until i read this thread. Had to come back and report as ive bow tried both. I’m only annoyed I never tried earlier. Nanogen is TOTALLY DIFFERENT CLASS. I’ll never go back. For a start the colors are like multiple tonal where the Toppik ones seem more flat. Does anyone know if you can buy Nanogen in stores? I’m only able to order online.

@ Andy – where are you based? I am in the UK and you can buy Nanogen in Boots.
