Well, my wife is a bit of a color expert, and has specialized in black hair. Unfortunately, the chemistry of your hair is far different than what the colors are designed for. White hair is naturally oily and black hair is naturally dry. Color and chemical processes are just plain harsh. There's no real way around it, they have to be to do the job. When you're dealing with an oily white hair it can absorb the harsh treatments. Your hair's just not cut out for that, the best thing is to be nice to it, give it plenty of moisturizers, and avoid overwashing. Genetics has pretty much forced you to choose between healthy hair or colored hair until someone can invent a color that will work for you. There's nothing on the market now that will.

The cream called "cholesterol". You put it on y our hair then wrap with a warm bath towel. Then rinse your hair. It actually will condition your hair, making it soft and silky again. I did this after I colored my hair and this is what my hairdresser told me to do. You can even purchase this at a dollar store now. Try it. You'll love it!

To stop your hair from breaking, you should trim your ends. Not only will it keep split ends away, but it will also keep your hair color even.

This is gonna blow you away....but this is the TRUTH! 1/2 jar of miracle whip and a bread bag or similiar material to wrap and sleep with it in....once a week....it's a lovely silky feel if you continue this method.

The key is to stop coloring you hair for a while and get into the habit of really taking care of it. First if your hair is relaxed and colored you need clip your ends and choose a hairstyle that is not so damaging like a simple wrap for awhile. Wash it every week, flat iron it and wrap it everyday. Make sure you only flat iron once a week after you wash it. You also need to use some kinda of moisturizer when you flat iron. Also get a protein treatment called Aphogee and use it every six weeks. It smells really bad but you need to do this in order for your hair to return to it healthy state. Make sure you get the aphogee that dries hard on your hair under the dryer and then you rinse it out and follow with a regular but good conditioner. Dove shampoo and conditioner or Pantene shampoo and conditioner for relaxed or natural hair works really well. If your hair is not relaxed all you have to do is clip your ends and use the protein conditioner along with good shampoo & conditoner and a good moisturizer. Just do this for awhile and you hair will thank you for it. Black women can use color but we just have to be very strict about taking care of our hair after we do.
Hope this helps!!!!
