I dont want my hair to look shiny and hard but while still maintaining a strong hold throughout the day?

I am a guy obviously; my hair is dirty blond, about an 1.5″ on the top and about 1″ on the sides. It is kind of wavy and medium thickness. What kinds of styles could I do with Crew Forming Cream or other styling products? Pictures would help please!!
