I colored my hair Red with Henna 3 days ago and love it! I just wanted to know from people that have colored their hair with Henna, how long did their hair stayed that Red color? I know when I have colored my hair Red before with Clairol permanent hair color, after two weeks my hair was not red anymore. It was more Brown then Red! I hope that Henna keeps that Red color for longer!

Henna is a permanent dye, clairol used at home is a demi permanent or semi permanent dye.
And red fades faster than other colors.
If you buy great quality henna with high dye content it will dye red and stay red very well.
I love the color I get with the henna here.http://www.hennacaravan.com/shop/hair.ht…
have fun
That’s awesome that you got a great color. I hennaed my hair and my mom’s hair a month ago and the color hasn’t seem to fade yet. Henna is pretty permenant and apparently fades much less that chemical red dye.

If you want to keep the color you have you don’t want to do overlap it with more full hair henna treatments. The more you henna the deeper the red it will get. You can keep this color by only doing root touch ups. Everything you need to know about henna: http://hennaforhair.com
There is a good forum, examples of people’s mixes, and an ebook.
Henna is a permanent color so it will gradually fade. I usually re-do or just do a root touch up every 7 to 8 weeks. That’s a lot longer than those chemicals offer!
Not all henna products are exactly the same so your could last longer or not as long as mine does. I get mine from Henna Hut. The big key to make it last it not to wash your hair for 48 hours after you apply the henna. This time perioud allows the henna to really bond to the proteins in your hair.
