How Do You Preserve Colored Hair?

I’ve been dying my hair bright red for the past few months.(Not like, ginger red, but like fire truck red.) It looks really awesome. The problem is it washes out to a light pink tint. I want to know how to keep my hair color bright and fun, not gross looking. Any ideas? I’m planning on redying it soon, so I’d like some ideas soon. Thank you.
