How Do I Get Black Colored Hair To A Lighter Shade Of Brown?

I’ve been dying my hair black for almost 2 years now. Now i want to go back to my original color which is medium brown. What is the best way to go back, other than waiting for it to grow out?

well…you CAN bleach your hair and then dye it brown..but that is way too much damage at once, especially to hair that’s already been damaged through previous coloring!
please, please, please get this done professionally. they can strip the black as safely as they can, safer than you ever could at home. if you can’t find the money or time to get this job done at a hair salon, then you might as well just wait till your hair grows out.

You can bleach your hair, which would really damage your hair. If you did decide to bleach your hair, then the shades would be mis colored because you have died your hair black numerous times, and for that you would use a toner. The best thing would be to ask a hair colorist. I think you should just do a couple highlights and slowly start going lighter.

go to a hair stylist don’t do this one your self.she will strip your hair and put a brown color on it but you may end up having some red in your hair
