Specifically ones for specific hair colors like John Frieda’s Radiant Red? Or do I just need any old gentle shampoo? I’m coloring my hair red, but I know red color fades the quickest. I tend to use cheapy shampoos like V05 that have harsh cleansers in them because they make my hair feel the cleanest. Are these a no-no or does it not really make a difference?

John Frieda does work! I used it when I had dyed my hair blonde before, and each day it would looke like I had just dyed it. Cheaper brands are definetly no-no’s. They just drain the color right out. Trust me!
It does make a difference, I sometimes color my hair and a few I know do and it definitely helps. I use the Redken for color treated hair and it has a hair sunscreen in it too because the sun can ruin your color and it also helps to lock it in.
i use herbal essences for color treated hair. (the pink bottle) and it works awesome it leaves your hair smelling good, and it keeps your hair from being brittle from all the color. (and the color will last longer)
the color shampoos help quite a bit. Please stay away from the cheap shampoos and conditioners. They are very harsh and do your hair no good. Go with the John Frieda line and your hair will feel and look much better.
